The day started out a little wet and gloomy, but the clouds soon gave way to some sun and fun in the sand. Participants: Mateo and Pete in Gen 1 Xterras and Mosi & Mindie, DWilly & Laura, and PacoPico & Kim in Gen 2 Xterras. Mosi started out as leader, and we immediately found some nice hills to play around on and a few paths through the trees. Dave got a little stuck, but we easily retrieved him with a tow strap. We took a lunch break on the beach by some oddly huge kelp, and then Brian took the lead. After some more putzing around and some nice hill climbs, he headed down a short little path between the trees and slowed at a very unfortunate time. He got himself buried in really soft sand. When we weren’t able to winch him back up, we anchored him in the rear and winched from the front to straighten his truck out. After that, we all decided we’d had enough of the sand for one day. Mateo and Pete headed in to Tillamook to fetch some squeaky cheese for their wives, and the rest of us headed home. Great run! Thanks to everyone who made it out!
