I like my AJ’s SuperSquare rock sliders but the opening between the rails allows a lot of road ‘junk’ to be thrown up against the side of the Xterra.
I remembered some 1” black ethafoam I had stored away and decided to try using that as an insert between the rails.
I cut the foam inserts a little oversize and squeezed them in. The pressure of the foam plus the gripping of the Line-X coating on the sliders should keep the inserts from coming out.
But just in case, I put another layer of inserts in the bottom of the openings.

I think the really TIGHT fit and roughness of the Line-X will keep them in there. If not, then I will probably look at some sort of glue.
